You're only grey initially. I have a routine that runs every 15 minutes and updates new members to either blue or pink, depending on their gender.
I'm sure everyone's noticed, but I abandoned the old tiered-green color scheme. I think having blue and pink is better. Makes it real easy to determine who's a guy and who's a girl. Chat mods are a darker shade of blue or pink.
