Profile Picture Weirdness

Recently there have been a few reports from members that they've seen their profile pic on somebody else's profile, which naturally raises some questions and consternation.

It turns out that this is some sort of technical glitch being experienced (so far at least) only by people are using Tapatalk on the iPhone. In each case, the correct profile pictures are displayed when the site is viewed using a browser on a computer.

So if you're on an iPhone, don't freak out if you see your avatar on somebody else's profile. It's not really on their profile - and you're the only person that is seeing it on their profile.

But please do report this occurrences so we can keep track of the scope of the problem. You can post here, or message me directly.

Hi Mani and anyone else reading this,

I had this happen just recently. Someone I know from the chatroom told me that my avatar had appeared on two other profiles (one male, one female) on his iPhone. He said that when he signed in to O, their profiles didn't have my avatar. At the time it kind of freaked me out a bit because I thought someone was playing games. I check the two profiles out and it was interesting--the male profile had no picture on it and the guy who had this profile hadn't been in Orgasmanic in a few months. I emailed him about the confusion but got no response.

So what's the solution for those iPhone users? And why did he manage to get my picture on those profiles? That really is strange.

Hello Mani.

I was the one Hush was referring to.  I was on O and visited someone's profile and scrolled down and saw their friends; the weird thing was that two of the people had Hush's current profile pic as their pic.  I was on my iPhone at that point viewing O thru my Safari browser. So I went to my Mac and when I pulled the same profile, the guy's profile pic was blank and the girls had her own... I was looking at them at the same time (iPhone & Mac).

I'm pretty technical and I'm sure there was just some issue with a cached image's link getting broken and another profile picking it up.  It hasnt happened since.

I was pretty upsetting for Hush and I'm sure ultimately its ok.

Thanks for the report, Hush & Kevin.

Kevin, I agree, it smells like a cache thing. I had a similar thing happen once on a PC and it went away when I cleared the cache and restarted the browser. If you see it happen again, would you try clearing Safari's cache and see if that fixes it? That would be an end-user fix, at any rate.

I also had this happen on Ipad...using skyfire..and it is a cache issue. I sent notes to a number of people asking them to quit using my av...I apologize to them (glad I asked nicely, and glad I didnt get any rightfullly angry responses!)..

Mani and ilikeitalot helped me out -- just clear the cache!
